KULAHINI SHAKHI NIWAS(A WORKING WOMEN HOSTEL) UNDER THE MWCD, GOVT.OF INDIA
During the period under report , the organization Rural Voluntary Services (RVS) has been established a Shakhi Niwas( A working Women Hostel) at Athokpam Awang Leikai, Thoubal District, Manipur with the financial assistance from the Ministry of Women & Child Development,Govt.of India and Social Welfare Department, Govt. of Manipur.
The following are the main activities of the project:
I. The Shakhi Niwas is providing of safe conveniently located accommodation for working women with their kids day care facilities for women living in hostels.
II. The Shakhi Niwas ( Rented accommodation) has started to benefitted the working women who come from various urban and remote rural areas of Thoubal District as well as from different part of the State used to solved the problem of lack of safe accommodation. It is now provided the safe accommodation with food for them to arrange their own accommodation with their limited income.
III. Developing Physical Facilities:
a) Yoga : In every morning and evening inmates done yoga passionately
b) Prayer with : They pray, worship of what they believe in and learn meditation
Meditation during the time of yoga.
c) Recreational Item : TV, Radio, Ludo, Carrom, Checker etc.
